Hazardous Substances Planning Common Framework
The Hazardous Substances Planning common framework is a non-legislative framework that relates to land-use planning. It includes planning controls on the presence of hazardous substances; handling development proposals for hazardous establishments, and handling development proposals for developments in the vicinity of hazardous establishments.
The framework was discussed in session 5 by the Local Government and Communities Committee.
This framework has been approved by the UK Government and devolved administration JMC(EN) and Portfolio Ministers after having undergone parliamentary scrutiny. The finalised framework was subsequently published on 31st August 2021.
